CAR-T Cell Therapy
Chimeric antigen receptor T (CAR-T) cell therapy is a new treatment for a variety of cancers. The idea is to remove the patient's T cells and genetically engineer them to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) that recognises a specific tumour-associated antigen (TAA). As a result, when the CAR-expressing T-cells are reintroduced into the patient's body, they will target and eliminate the TAA-expressing tumour cells.
CAR-T therapy in China typically costs between $50,000 to $150,000 depending on the hospital, type of cancer, and specific treatment protocol required.
Top hospitals include Beijing Cancer Hospital, Peking University Cancer Hospital, Shanghai Cancer Center, and Guangzhou Nanfang Hospital.
The entire process takes 3-6 weeks: 1 week for cell collection, 2-3 weeks for manufacturing, and 1-2 weeks for infusion and monitoring.
Success rates vary by cancer type. For lymphoma: 70-90% complete response. For leukemia: 80-95% remission. Individual results depend on cancer stage and patient health.
Common side effects include cytokine release syndrome (CRS), neurotoxicity, fever, low blood pressure, and fatigue. Most are manageable with medication.
Yes. CancerCareE assists international patients with medical visas, translation, accommodation, and full treatment coordination.
TIL Therapy
TIL (Tumor-Infiltrating Lymphocyte) therapy is a form of immunotherapy where T-cells from the patient's tumor are harvested, expanded in a lab, and then reinfused into the patient to attack cancer cells.
Effective for melanoma, cervical cancer, lung cancer, and some solid tumors. Clinical trials ongoing for others.
